Recap: Cowboys vs. Redskins

The Dallas Cowboys defeated the Washington Redskins today by a score of 33-17.
Ezekiel Elliott led the way for the Cowboys, rushing for 150 yards and two touchdowns, while Dak Prescott threw for a mere 143 yards. On the other hand, Kirk Cousins threw for 263 yards and a touchdown before throwing a game ending pick-six in the final minute.
With the win, the Cowboys improve to 4-3 on the season and 2-0 in divisional play while the Redskins fall to 3-4 and 0-3 in the division.
Following the loss, the Redskins will travel to Seattle to face the Seahawks next week, while the Cowboys will host the Chiefs.

For Spartan Fans: Saturday was exactly what we needed

For anyone who knows me, it's no secret that I've been critical of the Michigan State basketball team's ability to compete against top level talent ever since suffering losses against Ohio State and Michigan. That all changed on Saturday. The Spartans were able to secure a signature win against the #3 ranked Purdue Boilermakers. It wasn't just the fact that they were able to get the job done against a great team, it was the fact that Miles Bridges played like a man who returned to school on a mission. Bridges spurned the NBA last spring in favor of returning to MSU for his sophomore year. The objective was clear: get Tom Izzo his second national championship. Prior to the Purdue game, many people (including myself) had criticized his development, opining that he lacked a killer instinct and a certain selfishness necessary for this Spartan team to reach their goals. The Detroit Red Wings and Tanking

Red Wings fans, all things considered, have had things pretty good the past two and a half decades. Ken Holland, GM and executive vice president of the Detroit Red Wings, has been the architect of three Stanley Cup Championship teams, but now he faces a different challenge: rebuilding the Red Wings to their former glory. Heading into this season, with the retirement of former captain Henrik Zetterberg, many fans ear-marked the Red Wings as a shoe-in for the bottom of the league's standings. Although that would require a lot of pain and losing in a single season, the silver lining would be a shot at winning the draft lottery and attaining the number one overall pick, and spending said-pick on superstar forward Jack Hughes, a skilled center skating for the US National Team Development Program in Plymouth, Michigan.
