For Spartan Fans: Saturday was exactly what we needed
For anyone who knows me, it's no secret that I've been critical of the Michigan State basketball team's ability to compete against top level talent ever since suffering losses against Ohio State and Michigan. That all changed on Saturday. The Spartans were able to secure a signature win against the #3 ranked Purdue Boilermakers. It wasn't just the fact that they were able to get the job done against a great team, it was the fact that Miles Bridges played like a man who returned to school on a mission. Bridges spurned the NBA last spring in favor of returning to MSU for his sophomore year. The objective was clear: get Tom Izzo his second national championship. Prior to the Purdue game, many people (including myself) had criticized his development, opining that he lacked a killer instinct and a certain selfishness necessary for this Spartan team to reach their goals.
